| 1 box | Piccolini® Mini Fusilli |
| 4 tablespoons | extra virgin olive oil |
| ½ cup | onion, diced small |
| 8 ounces | mild Italian sausage, crumbled |
| 2 cups | canned diced tomatoes |
| to taste | salt |
| to taste | freshly ground black pepper |
HEAT oil and onion in a medium skillet over medium heat. Sauté for 3 minutes or until slightly translucent.
ADD the sausage and continue to sauté until slightly browned, about 7 minutes.
ADD the canned tomato, ½ cup water, salt and pepper, and bring to a simmer.
Meanwhile COOK the Piccolini® Mini Fusilli according to the package directions.
SIMMER the sauce for about 4 minutes until thickened.
DRAIN and toss the pasta with the sauce, while the pan continues to heat. Allow the sauce to simmer with the pasta for about a minute, remove from the heat and toss the pasta and sauce mixture with the cheese.
