| 1 jar | BARILLA Marinara Sauce |
| 2 tablespoons | olive oil |
| ½ pound | spicy Italian sausage |
| 1 tablespoon | fennel seeds |
| to taste | salt |
| to taste | freshly ground black pepper |
| ½ cup | Parmigiano cheese, grated |
BRING a pot of water to a boil.
TOAST fennel seeds in a small pan until aromatic and slightly brown; about 2 minutes.
REMOVE casings from Italian sausage. Heat a large skillet; add olive oil and sausage. Cook sausage until three-quarters done.
ADD fennel seeds and Marinara Sauce; season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring sauce to a simmer and continue cooking for about 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, COOK Gemelli according to package directions. Drain and combine with sauce mixture. Sprinkle with grated cheese before serving
