Ingredients

1 boxBARILLA Gemelli
1 jarBARILLA Marinara Sauce
2 tablespoonsolive oil
½ poundspicy Italian sausage
1 tablespoonfennel seeds
to tastesalt
to tastefreshly ground black pepper
½ cupParmigiano cheese, grated


BRING a pot of water to a boil.
TOAST fennel seeds in a small pan until aromatic and slightly brown; about 2 minutes.
REMOVE casings from Italian sausage. Heat a large skillet; add olive oil and sausage. Cook sausage until three-quarters done.
ADD fennel seeds and Marinara Sauce; season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring sauce to a simmer and continue cooking for about 5 minutes.
COOK Gemelli according to package directions. Drain and combine with sauce mixture. Sprinkle with grated cheese before serving.
