Fettuccine with Mushroom and Garlic Sauce and Italian Sausage (Fettuccine con Salsa Boscaiola e Salsiccia)

Ingredients

1 boxBARILLA Fettuccine
1 jarBARILLA Mushroom & Garlic Sauce
1/3 cupextra virgin olive oil
1 cupwhite onions, julienne
to tastered chili pepper flakes, crushed (optional)
1 poundItalian sausage, crumbled
1 tablespoonfresh parsley, chopped
1/2 cupParmigiano cheese, freshly grated


BRING a large pot of water to a a boil.
HEAT olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and saute until golden, about 5 minutes. Add crushed red pepper flakes , if desired.
ADD sausage and cook 5-7 mminutes until brown and cooked through.
ADD Mushroom and Garlic Sauce and continue cooking 3-5 minutes until sauce is heated through. Set aside.
COOK pasta according to package directions. Drain and immediately add to hot sauce. Mix well. Transfer to a serving platter or bowl.
GARNISH with chopped parsley and grated cheese
