Barilla® Whole Grain Spaghetti with Italian Sausage
Spaghetti Integrali con Salsiccia

Ingredients

1 boxBARILLA Whole Grain Spaghetti
2 tablespoonsolive oil
2 clovesgarlic, chopped
1/2 cuponion, chopped
1 teaspoondried basil
1 teaspoondried parsley
1/2 teaspoondried oregano
to tastesalt
to tastefreshly ground black pepper
1 can (18 ounces)canned San Marzano tomatoes
1 can (18 ounces)tomato puree
1 poundItalian sausage
1/2 cupParmigiano cheese, grated


BRING a large pot of water to a boil.
BROWN sausage in a large skillet, drain and set aside.
ADD olive oil and onions to the same skillet, sauté for 3 minutes. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
ADD chopped tomatoes and puree and cook down for 5 minutes. Season with herb mixture, salt and pepper.
COOK pasta according to package directions. ADD sausage to sauce mixture and stir to combine. Drain pasta and toss with sauce. Top with the grated Parmigiano cheese.
