Baked Ziti with Meat Sauce and Fresh Veggies

Ingredients

1 boxBARILLA Ziti
1 jarBARILLA Marinara Sauce
10 ouncesfresh mozzarella, sliced thin
1 cupParmigiano Reggiano cheese, grated
1 poundlean ground beef
1 pintcherry tomatoes, halved
2 cupswater
to tastesalt


PREHEAT oven to 375 F.
BRING a large pot of water to a boil.
BROWN ground beef in a skillet over medium until thoroughly cooked. Drain off the excess grease.
ADD cherry tomatoes and sauté 1 minute. Mix in 1/2 jar of the Marinara sauce and water. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
COOK pasta 1 minute under the package recommended cook time. Drain and combine with remaining 1/2 jar of Marinara Sauce. LAYER 1/2 of the pasta mixutre in a baking pan. Cover with a layer of the ground beef mixture. Next, layer with mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with grated cheese. Repeat layers. BAKE in oven until cheese is lightly browned on top, about 15-20 minutes.
