An admired Italian soup specialty, pasta fagioli features a medley of fresh vegetables with cannellini beans in a chicken and marinara based broth – a steaming good meal every time.

Ditalini Ditalini

Ingredients

1/2 CUP Barilla Ditalini
1 JAR Barilla Marinara - Traditional Sauce
1 TABLESPOON Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 CUP Yellow Onion, Diced
1 CUP Carrot, Diced
1 CUP Celery, Diced
3 CUPS Water
38 OUNCES Cannellini Beans, Canned, Drained
32 FL. OUNCES Chicken Broth
1 Bay Leaf
TO TASTE Salt
TO TASTE Black Pepper, Freshly Ground
TO TASTE Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese, Grated

Cooking Instructions

    HEAT olive oil in a stock pot. Add onion, celery and carrots, cook for 1 minute.
    ADD beans, Marinara Sauce, chicken broth, water, and bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper.
    SIMMER for 20 minutes.
    STIR Ditalini into the soup. Simmer 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and allow soup to rest 10 minutes. Garnish with grated Parmigiano cheese.
