1965 - Barilla revives its production of bread (which had been abandoned in 1947), along with bread sticks and biscotti. The new factory in Rubbiano is equipped with the world's longest oven for the production of bread sticks and biscotti. Mina, a famous Italian singer, signs a five-year contract to promote Barilla products on the television program “Carosello.”
1969 - The packaging of Barilla pasta and the Barilla trademark are restyled. A new advertising campaign is targeted towards the large southern Italian market.
1970 - Production begins at Barilla’s factory in Pedrignano (Parma)—today the world’s largest pasta manufacturing plant (1.5 million square yards).
1971 - The Barilla family sells its majority share to the American multi-national company W.R. Grace.
1974 - Barilla purchases Italy’s largest mill in Altamura (Bari).
