1975 - The “Mulino Bianco” (“White Mill”) line of baked products is created. Barilla purchases the Teodoro Voiello (Torre Annunziata) pasta company.
1977 - Barilla’s line of fresh products—pastry snacks, brioches, sliced bread—is born.
1979 - Pietro Barilla buys back the majority share of the company from W.R. Grace. The company turnover has now reached 250 billion Italian lire. Barilla France, the first foreign subsidiary, is incorporated.
1985 - Pasta is at the center of an advertising campaign created by masters of the cinema, including Federico Fellini. Packaging design is further developed.
1987 - Barilla goes international as famous celebrities—including Gérard Depardieu, Steffi Graf, and Placido Domingo– promote its products in Europe. A television campaign, with music by Vangelis, brings the name Barilla to the height of popularity.
